Domenica (American band)

Domenica was an American rock band formed in Tempe, Arizona, in 2002. The band was fronted by Bekki Friesen (vocals, guitar) and also featured Chris DeMent (guitar), Derek Demuth (bass), and Brian Czapla (drums). Their music blended elements of alternative rock, pop-punk, and power pop.

Domenica gained attention through local performances and early demos, eventually signing with Epic Records. They released their debut album, Domenica, in 2002. The album featured singles such as "Without You" and "Gotta Get Away," which received some radio airplay and helped them gain a wider audience.

The band toured extensively to promote their debut album, opening for acts like Eve 6 and SR-71. Despite the initial success, Domenica faced challenges with their label, and their follow-up album was never released. The band ultimately disbanded in 2004.

After the dissolution of Domenica, Bekki Friesen pursued a solo career, releasing music under her own name. Other members of the band also continued to be involved in various musical projects. While Domenica's time in the spotlight was relatively short, they remain a notable act from the early 2000s pop-punk scene.
