Dog City (Matt Mays album)

Dog City is the fifth studio album by Canadian rock singer-songwriter Matt Mays, released on October 26, 2012. The album was recorded primarily at The Farm Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia. Dog City marks a stylistic departure for Mays, incorporating more electronic and pop elements than his previous guitar-driven rock albums.

The album features collaborations with several other musicians, including Hawksley Workman. The title, Dog City, refers to the feeling of disconnect and disillusionment that Mays experienced during the writing and recording process, a metaphorical representation of a place where "anything goes" and the rules are different. The album spawned the singles "Take It On Faith" and "Indio."

Dog City received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its experimentation and Mays' continued evolution as a songwriter. It was nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the 2013 Juno Awards.
