Deus (band)

Deus, often stylized as dEUS, is a Belgian rock band based in Antwerp. They are known for their eclectic and experimental approach to music, incorporating elements of art rock, alternative rock, and avant-garde pop.

Formed in 1991, the original lineup consisted of Tom Barman (vocals, guitar), Klaas Janzoons (keyboards, violin), Rudy Trouvé (guitar), Stef Kamil Carlens (bass), and Julle De Borgher (drums). Their debut album, Worst Case Scenario, released in 1994, was critically acclaimed and established their reputation for innovative and unpredictable songwriting.

Over the years, the band has experienced several lineup changes. Tom Barman has remained the constant member and primary songwriter. Significant members have included Mauro Pawlowski (guitar, vocals), and Alan Gevaert (bass).

Deus's discography includes albums such as Ideal Crash (1999), Pocket Revolution (2005), Keep You Close (2011), and Following Sea (2012). Their music is characterized by complex arrangements, unconventional song structures, and Barman's distinctive vocals. They have garnered a significant international following and are considered one of Belgium's most influential rock bands.
