Dauda (sultan)

Dauda was a sultan of Kano, a powerful Hausa city-state in what is now northern Nigeria. He reigned in the 18th century, specifically from approximately 1743 to 1753. His reign is documented in the Kano Chronicle, a historical record of the rulers of Kano. Sultan Dauda's reign is particularly noted for its relative peace and prosperity, a period of consolidation following earlier conflicts. He is remembered for his piety and just rule.
