Ardres

Ardres is a commune in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. It is situated approximately 15 km (9 miles) south of Calais.

Ardres is historically significant as the site of the Field of the Cloth of Gold in 1520, a meeting between King Henry VIII of England and King Francis I of France. This event aimed to foster friendship between the two countries but was short-lived.

The economy of Ardres is primarily agricultural, with some light industry present. It is accessible via the A26 motorway.
