Curtis Lundy

Curtis Lundy (born 1956) is an American jazz double bassist and composer. He is known for his hard-swinging style and versatility, having performed and recorded with a wide range of jazz artists.

Lundy was born in Miami, Florida, and began playing bass at a young age. He studied music at the University of Miami. In the late 1970s, he moved to New York City and quickly became a sought-after bassist on the jazz scene.

Lundy has worked with numerous jazz luminaries, including Betty Carter, Carmen McRae, John Hicks, Bobby Watson, and Pharoah Sanders. He has led his own ensembles and recorded several albums as a leader, showcasing his compositions and bass playing. His recordings often feature his sister, vocalist Carmen Lundy.
