INS Nipat

INS Nipat (K86) was a Veer-class corvette of the Indian Navy. Corvettes are small, agile warships, and the Veer class were built in the Soviet Union (later Russia) and then license-produced in India.

INS Nipat, along with other ships of her class, played a significant role in various naval operations, including anti-piracy patrols and exercises. She was armed with anti-ship missiles, surface-to-air missiles, and guns, making her a versatile platform for maritime security.

The ship's primary role was to patrol India's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and protect its maritime interests. INS Nipat participated in numerous joint exercises with other navies, enhancing interoperability and strengthening maritime security in the region.

INS Nipat was decommissioned from active service after many years of service to the Indian Navy. Details regarding her decommissioning date and any subsequent preservation efforts may vary.
