Clayton Lambert (baseball)

Clayton Lambert (born July 12, 1961, in Point Fortin, Trinidad and Tobago) is a former professional baseball outfielder. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Detroit Tigers (1991-1992) and Montreal Expos (1994-1995).

Lambert was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals as an amateur free agent in 1982. He spent several years in the minor leagues before getting his first major league opportunity with the Detroit Tigers in 1991 at the age of 29.

Primarily a left-handed hitter, Lambert was known for his power potential. During his time with the Tigers, he served primarily as a reserve outfielder and designated hitter. He was released by the Tigers after the 1992 season.

Lambert continued to play in the minor leagues and independent leagues before getting another chance in the major leagues with the Montreal Expos in 1994. He played with the Expos during the strike-shortened 1994 season and again in 1995. After his major league career ended, Lambert continued to play professionally in various leagues.

After his playing career, Lambert became involved in coaching and player development.
