Buhl Building (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)

The Buhl Building is a historic building located in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Situated at 204 Fifth Avenue, it is a notable example of Beaux-Arts architecture. Built in 1913, the building originally housed the Boggs & Buhl department store, a prominent retailer in the city. The architectural firm of Janssen & Abbot designed the building, which features a limestone facade, elaborate ornamentation, and large display windows.

Over the years, the Buhl Building has undergone various renovations and served a range of purposes. While no longer a department store, it has housed offices, retail spaces, and other commercial establishments. Its distinctive architecture continues to contribute to the historic character of Pittsburgh's central business district.
