Ski cap
A ski cap, also known as a beanie, stocking cap, or winter hat, is a close-fitting, brimless knitted cap worn to provide warmth in cold weather, particularly while skiing or engaging in other outdoor activities. It typically covers the head and ears and may be made of wool, acrylic, fleece, or other insulating materials. Ski caps often come in various colors, patterns, and styles, including those with a pom-pom (also called a bobble or toorie) on top. Functionally, a ski cap helps to retain body heat lost through the scalp. Some designs include a fold-up brim to provide additional warmth around the forehead. While originally associated with skiing and winter sports, ski caps have become a widespread fashion accessory, worn in diverse climates and contexts. The term "ski cap" often distinguishes it from other hat types, emphasizing its common use in snowy or cold conditions, though the terms are frequently used interchangeably with "beanie" and other similar names.
