Brighton & Hove is a bus operator serving the city of Brighton and Hove and surrounding areas in East Sussex, England. It is a subsidiary of the Go-Ahead Group.
History:
The company traces its origins back to the Brighton Corporation Tramways, which began operating electric trams in 1901. These were gradually replaced by trolleybuses starting in the 1930s, and then by motor buses from the late 1930s. The bus operation was renamed Brighton Corporation Transport, and later Brighton Transport. Following deregulation of bus services in 1986, the company became Brighton Borough Transport.
In 1993, the company was sold to the Go-Ahead Group and rebranded as Brighton & Hove Bus and Coach Company. The name was subsequently shortened to Brighton & Hove.
