Bob Quinn (American football)

Bob Quinn is an American football executive. He is best known for his tenure as the General Manager of the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL) from 2016 to 2020.

Quinn began his NFL career with the New York Jets as a player personnel assistant in 2000. He then joined the New England Patriots organization in 2000, holding various scouting positions over 16 seasons. His roles with the Patriots included area scout, regional scout, and ultimately, Director of Pro Scouting. During his time in New England, the Patriots achieved considerable success, including multiple Super Bowl victories.

In January 2016, Quinn was hired as the General Manager of the Detroit Lions. During his time with the Lions, he was responsible for player acquisitions through the NFL Draft, free agency, and trades, as well as managing the team's salary cap. Notable draft picks during his tenure include Frank Ragnow, T.J. Hockenson, and Jeff Okudah. Quinn also hired head coach Matt Patricia in 2018.

Quinn and Patricia were both fired by the Lions in November 2020 after a disappointing start to the season. His overall record as General Manager of the Lions was 31-43-1. Since his departure from Detroit, Quinn has held consulting roles within the NFL.
