Birmingham Bulls (ACHL)
The Birmingham Bulls were a professional ice hockey team based in Birmingham, Alabama, that played in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League (ACHL) during the 2002-2003 season. The team's name was a revival of the name used by two previous Birmingham hockey teams, one that played in the World Hockey Association (WHA) from 1976 to 1979 and another that played in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) from 1995 to 2001. The ACHL Bulls played their home games at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) Arena. The team was coached by Jerome Bechard. The ACHL folded midway through the 2002-2003 season, leaving the Birmingham Bulls, along with other teams in the league, defunct. The team's brief existence contributed to Birmingham's long history of professional hockey franchises.
