Big Daddy (wrestler)

Big Daddy was the ring name of Shirley Crabtree, a prominent British professional wrestler who competed from the 1950s to the 1990s. He was a major figure in the era of British wrestling that was regularly featured on ITV's World of Sport.

Crabtree was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. He began his wrestling career after serving in the Royal Navy. He initially wrestled as a heel (villain) but achieved his greatest popularity after transitioning to a babyface (hero) character.
