Ford Edge
The Ford Edge is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. It was first introduced in 2006 for the 2007 model year. Positioned between the Ford Escape and the Ford Explorer in Ford's SUV lineup, the Edge offers a balance of interior space, fuel efficiency, and features.
The Edge is built on the Ford CD3 platform (first generation) and later on the Ford CD4 platform (second generation). It typically features a five-passenger seating configuration and is available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
Throughout its production run, the Ford Edge has offered a variety of engine options, including both inline-four and V6 engines, and later, turbocharged EcoBoost engines. Trim levels have varied, often including base models, as well as higher-end trims with upgraded features such as leather upholstery, advanced safety technologies, and premium audio systems.
The Ford Edge has been sold primarily in North America but has also been available in some international markets. It is assembled at Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The model has received several updates and redesigns over the years, with each generation incorporating new technologies, styling cues, and performance enhancements.
