Bestwinka

Bestwinka is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Bestwina, within Bielsko County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It is the location of the gmina's administrative seat, also named Bestwina. Bestwinka is situated approximately 9 kilometers north of Bielsko-Biała and 40 kilometers south of Katowice. Historically part of Silesia, the village is located in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. The population is approximately 1,300. The name likely derives from the personal name "Bestwa" or a similar root. The village is primarily agricultural, but increasingly residential due to its proximity to larger urban centers.
