Glossidae
Glossidae is a family of moths within the superfamily Gelechioidea. These small moths are characterized by their reduced or absent proboscis and are often associated with bracket fungi or other decaying wood where their larvae feed. Their classification within the Gelechioidea has been subject to change over time due to ongoing phylogenetic research and revisions. Characteristics which have traditionally been used to define them include the structure of the male genitalia and wing venation. Further molecular and morphological studies may lead to a clearer understanding of the relationships within this family and with other closely related groups.
