Busting Loose (TV series)

Busting Loose was an American sitcom that aired on CBS from January 26, 1977, to December 14, 1977. The series was based on the 1977 theatrical film of the same name, which starred Robby Benson. Benson reprised his role as Zachary "Zach" Douglas, a young, well-meaning but often awkward man trying to navigate life, in the television adaptation.

The show revolved around Zach's experiences as he worked at a car wash and interacted with his friends and family. The humor often derived from Zach's klutzy nature and his attempts to impress or help others, which often led to comedic mishaps. Key characters included his overbearing mother, played by Barbara Rush, and his friends and co-workers.

Despite its connection to the successful film, Busting Loose failed to capture a large audience and was cancelled after a single season.
