Haven (band)

Haven was an English alternative rock band, formed in Cornwall in 1996 and disbanded in 2006. The band consisted of Gary Briggs (vocals/guitar), Jack Maddocks (guitar), Iwan Gronow (bass), and Nat Wason (drums).

Haven signed with Hut Records in 2001 and released their debut album, Between the Senses, in 2002. The album spawned several singles, including "Til the End," which received significant airplay and helped the band gain wider recognition. Between the Senses showcased their melodic and atmospheric sound, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Verve and Radiohead.

Their second album, All for a Reason, was released in 2004 on Virgin Records. This album saw the band exploring a slightly heavier and more guitar-driven sound. While All for a Reason received generally positive reviews, it did not achieve the same commercial success as their debut.

Throughout their career, Haven toured extensively, supporting acts such as Coldplay and Stereophonics. They were known for their energetic live performances and passionate fanbase.

In 2006, Haven announced their decision to disband, citing creative differences and a desire to pursue other projects. The band members have since been involved in various musical endeavors. Gary Briggs went on to pursue a solo career, while other members have worked as session musicians or joined other bands.

Although Haven's time together was relatively short, they left behind a legacy of two well-regarded albums and a dedicated following that continues to appreciate their music.
