Noragami
Noragami is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Adachitoka. It began serialization in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in December 2010. The series follows Yato, a minor deity who dreams of having millions of worshippers. Lacking even a single shrine, he charges only five yen to grant wishes and generally performs odd jobs to earn a living.
The story begins when a middle school girl named Hiyori Iki pushes Yato out of the path of a bus, saving his life. However, this incident causes Hiyori to become a half-phantom, able to detach her soul from her body. Seeking to return to normal, Hiyori enlists Yato's help, and the two, along with Yato's Regalia (a weaponized spirit) Yukine, embark on various adventures involving gods, spirits, and the struggles of both the human and spirit worlds.
Noragami explores themes of identity, belief, the nature of existence, and the relationships between gods, spirits, and humans. The series is known for its blend of action, comedy, and drama, as well as its exploration of Shinto mythology.
The manga has been adapted into two anime television series, produced by Bones, airing from 2014 to 2015. The anime adaptations cover the first several arcs of the manga storyline.
The series has garnered significant popularity both in Japan and internationally, praised for its engaging characters, compelling plot, and visually appealing artwork.
