David Dillon (businessman)

David Dillon (born 1951) is an American businessman best known for his long tenure as CEO of Kroger, one of the largest supermarket chains in the United States.

Dillon joined Kroger in 1976, working his way up through various management positions. He was appointed CEO in 2003, succeeding Joseph A. Pichler. During his leadership, Kroger focused on organic growth, strategic acquisitions (including the purchase of Harris Teeter), and improved customer loyalty programs. Dillon emphasized value for customers and employees, focusing on providing a competitive shopping experience and cultivating a positive workplace environment.
