Ben Roberts (rugby league)
Ben Roberts (born 6 May 1986) is a former professional rugby league footballer who last played for the Ipswich Jets in the Queensland Cup. A versatile player, he primarily played as a five-eighth but was also capable of playing at halfback or centre.
Born in Auckland, New Zealand, Roberts represented New Zealand internationally.
Roberts began his professional career in the National Rugby League (NRL) with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, playing for them from 2004 to 2008. He subsequently moved to the Parramatta Eels, where he played from 2009 to 2012. After a stint in the Super League with the Warrington Wolves (2013-2014) and the Castleford Tigers (2015), Roberts returned to Australia. He joined the Melbourne Storm in 2016 before finishing his career with the Ipswich Jets.
Roberts' career was marked by periods of high performance and representative honours, however, it was also impacted by injuries at various stages.
