Carlos Bustamante (baseball)

Carlos Bustamante is a former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009. Bustamante was born on March 25, 1984, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Bustamante signed with the Phillies as an international free agent in 2002. He progressed through their minor league system, showcasing a fastball and slider. His time in the minors included stints with teams such as the Gulf Coast Phillies, Lakewood BlueClaws, and Reading Phillies.

He made his major league debut on September 1, 2009, pitching in relief for the Phillies against the Florida Marlins. Bustamante appeared in a total of three games for the Phillies that season, posting a 6.75 ERA over 2.2 innings pitched.

Following his brief stint in the majors, Bustamante continued to play in the minor leagues and in independent leagues. He pitched for organizations such as the Cincinnati Reds and later played in the Mexican League.
