Bang! (1985 Frankie Goes to Hollywood album)
Bang! is the second and final studio album by British band Frankie Goes to Hollywood, released in 1985. It followed the band's hugely successful debut album, Welcome to the Pleasuredome.
The album's production was notably different from its predecessor. Bang! saw the band members taking on a more active role in the songwriting and production process, moving away from the heavy involvement of producers Trevor Horn and Stephen Lipson. The change in creative control was reportedly a contentious issue within the band.
The album featured the singles "Rage Hard," "Warriors of the Wasteland," and "Watching the Wildlife." While the singles achieved some commercial success, they did not replicate the massive popularity of the band's earlier hits.
Bang! received mixed reviews upon its release. Some critics praised the band's attempt to assert more artistic control, while others found the album less cohesive and experimental than Welcome to the Pleasuredome. The album marked a decline in Frankie Goes to Hollywood's commercial fortunes, and the band ultimately dissolved shortly after its release.
