Paul Janensch

Paul Janensch (born August 22, 1932, died August 19, 2013) was an American newspaper editor and journalism educator. He was best known for his long career at various newspapers in Connecticut, including The Stamford Advocate, where he served as editor.

Janensch began his journalism career at the Louisville Courier-Journal. He later held editorial positions at the Hartford Times, the Chicago Tribune, and other publications before settling in Connecticut.

Throughout his career, Janensch was a strong advocate for journalistic ethics and community engagement. He frequently spoke and wrote about the importance of local news and the role of newspapers in a democratic society.

After retiring from newspaper editing, Janensch taught journalism at Quinnipiac University. He also continued to write and consult on media issues. His expertise was often sought on matters related to freedom of the press and responsible reporting.
