SZD-27
The SZD-27 Kormoran was a single-seat, high-performance glider designed and produced in Poland by Szybowcowy Zakład Doświadczalny (SZD), the Glider Experimental Works. It was developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s and intended to represent a significant advance in Polish glider design. The Kormoran's key feature was its laminar flow airfoil and retractable landing gear, contributing to reduced drag and improved aerodynamic performance. It was primarily aimed at competition flying and record attempts. While the SZD-27 demonstrated promising capabilities, it was produced in relatively limited numbers.
