Bachevo

Bachevo is a village in southwestern Bulgaria, located in the Blagoevgrad Province, Razlog Municipality. It is situated in the Razlog Valley, at the foot of the Rila Mountains.

The village's history dates back to ancient times, with evidence of Thracian and Roman presence in the area. During the Ottoman period, Bachevo served as a center for timber production.

Today, Bachevo is primarily an agricultural village, with farming and animal husbandry being the main sources of income for the local population. The village is also becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination due to its scenic location, proximity to the Rila Mountains, and traditional Bulgarian atmosphere. Several guesthouses and small hotels cater to visitors interested in hiking, ecotourism, and experiencing rural Bulgarian life.

The local church, dedicated to Saint George, is a notable landmark in the village. The annual village fair is held on Gergyovden (St. George's Day), a significant religious and cultural holiday in Bulgaria.
