Baby 81 (album)

Baby 81 is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC). It was released in 2007 on RCA Records. The album's title is derived from a news story about a baby who survived the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami and was initially known as "Baby 81" because he was the eighty-first infant to be admitted to a hospital in the disaster's aftermath. The band was moved by the story and used it as a metaphor for resilience and survival in the face of adversity.

The album marked a shift in BRMC's sound, incorporating more psychedelic and experimental elements than their previous, more straightforward rock albums. While still retaining their signature dark and atmospheric feel, Baby 81 features a wider range of instrumentation and sonic textures.

Notable tracks include "Weapon of Choice," which was released as a single and gained significant airplay, "Berlin," "666 Conducer," and "All You Do Is Talk." Baby 81 received generally positive reviews from critics, with many praising the band's willingness to experiment and expand their sonic palette.
