Bayazid (Jalayirids)
Bayazid was a Jalayirid prince who briefly ruled the Jalayirid Sultanate in 1382. He was a son of Sheikh Uwais Jalayir. His reign was short-lived and marked by instability and internal conflicts.
Following the death of his brother, Sultan Hussain I Jalayir, in 1382, Bayazid seized power in Baghdad. However, his ascension was contested by other members of the Jalayirid dynasty, including his brother Ahmad Jalayir.
Bayazid's rule was characterized by factionalism and power struggles within the Jalayirid court. He faced challenges to his authority and was ultimately overthrown by Ahmad Jalayir later in 1382. After being deposed, Bayazid disappears from historical record, with no further details known regarding his fate. His brief reign further weakened the already declining Jalayirid Sultanate, paving the way for future conflicts and ultimately the Timurid conquest.
