Astyochia

Astyochia (Ancient Greek: Ἀστυόχεια) was a prominent figure in Greek mythology, primarily known as a princess of Troy. She was the daughter of King Laomedon of Troy and the sister of Priam.

Astyochia is most notably associated with the story of Ganymede. According to some accounts, she was the mother of Ganymede by Tros. Other accounts name different mothers for Ganymede, so this association is not universally accepted. Ganymede was abducted by Zeus to serve as his cupbearer on Mount Olympus due to his exceptional beauty.

Beyond her connection to Ganymede, little is definitively known about Astyochia's life or role in the Trojan royal family. Historical and literary sources provide limited and often conflicting information. She primarily exists within the genealogical framework of the Trojan royal line.
