Karacabey

Karacabey is a town and district located in the Bursa Province of Turkey. Situated in the Marmara Region, Karacabey is known for its fertile agricultural lands, particularly for tomato and onion production. Historically, the area has been inhabited since ancient times, with evidence of Roman and Byzantine settlements.

The town’s economy is heavily reliant on agriculture and animal husbandry, including cattle and sheep breeding. In addition to tomatoes and onions, other significant agricultural products include melons, peppers, and various grains. The Karacabey Stud Farm (Karacabey Harası), a state-owned facility, is a notable institution dedicated to horse breeding, specifically for the Turkish Arabian breed.

Karacabey also boasts natural attractions, including the Karacabey Longoz Forests National Park (Karacabey Longozu Milli Parkı), a floodplain forest and a significant biodiversity hotspot.
