Armour of God (film)
Armour of God is a 1986 Hong Kong action-adventure comedy film written and directed by Jackie Chan, who also starred in the lead role. It is the first film in the Armour of God series, followed by Armour of God II: Operation Condor (1991).
The film follows Asian Hawk (Jackie Chan), a treasure hunter and former musician, who is tasked with finding the remaining pieces of a mystical armour set believed to have divine power. A religious cult kidnaps his former girlfriend, Lorelei, in an attempt to blackmail him into retrieving the armour. Asian Hawk, along with his friend Alan (Alan Tam), must use his martial arts skills and wit to rescue Lorelei and prevent the armour from falling into the wrong hands.
Armour of God is known for its elaborate stunts, comedic elements, and globe-trotting locations, primarily Yugoslavia. The film is notable for an on-set accident where Jackie Chan fell from a tree, resulting in a skull fracture and requiring surgery. The injury nearly caused his death and required a prolonged period of recovery. The film was a significant box office success in Hong Kong and helped solidify Chan's international stardom.
