Antoine Maurin (lithographer)
Antoine Maurin (1793-1860) was a French lithographer active during the first half of the 19th century. He was primarily known for his portrait lithographs, often based on paintings or drawings by prominent artists of the time. Maurin produced a significant number of portrait prints depicting notable figures in French society, including politicians, military leaders, artists, and writers. His works are characterized by their detailed rendering and skillful use of tonal gradations, reflecting the technical capabilities of early lithographic printing.
