Angie (TV series)

Angie is an American sitcom that aired on ABC from 1979 to 1980. The series starred Donna Pescow as Angie Falco, a young Italian-American waitress from South Philadelphia who falls in love with and marries Brad Benson (Robert Hays), a pediatrician from a wealthy Main Line family.

The show revolved around the culture clashes between Angie's working-class family and Brad's upper-class background, as well as the challenges they faced adjusting to married life. Recurring characters included Angie's parents, Theresa (Doris Roberts) and Frank (Debralee Scott, later Peggy Pope), her sister Marie (Diane Robin), and her friends Joyce (Susan French) and DiDi (Sharon Spelman). Brad's snobbish mother, Catherine (Tammy Grimes), also featured prominently.

"Angie" was created by Garry Marshall and Dale McRaven, and its theme song, "Maybe," performed by Thom Pace, became a popular hit. While the show was initially a ratings success, viewership declined in its second season, and it was ultimately canceled after 37 episodes.
