Paul Monaghan (politician)

Paul Monaghan (born 14 November 1966) is a Scottish politician. He was the Scottish National Party (SNP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross from 2015 to 2017.

Born in Preston, Lancashire, Monaghan worked as a financial services professional before entering politics. He was elected to the House of Commons in the 2015 general election, defeating the incumbent Liberal Democrat MP, John Thurso. During his time in Parliament, he served on various committees, including the Public Accounts Committee.

Monaghan lost his seat to Jamie Stone of the Liberal Democrats in the 2017 general election. Since leaving Parliament, he has remained active in the SNP.
