Mościce

Mościce is a district of the city of Tarnów, Poland. It is located on the right bank of the Biała Tarnowska river.

Historically, Mościce was a separate village that was incorporated into Tarnów in 1951. It is known primarily as the location of the large nitrogen fertilizer factory, Zakłady Azotowe w Tarnowie-Mościcach (Nitrogen Works in Tarnów-Mościce). The factory's construction in the 1920s, spearheaded by Eugeniusz Kwiatkowski as part of the Central Industrial Region (Centralny Okręg Przemysłowy), significantly transformed Mościce from a rural village into an industrial center. The factory played a vital role in the industrialization of Poland in the interwar period.

The architecture of Mościce, particularly the workers' housing built in the 1920s and 1930s, reflects a distinctive modernist style influenced by garden city concepts. It represents a significant example of planned industrial communities in Poland.

Mościce remains an important industrial area of Tarnów and a significant part of the city's history and identity.
