Angeli (cartoonist)
Angeli Agostini (born April 1, 1958) is a Brazilian cartoonist, caricaturist, and journalist. He is known for his political and satirical cartoons, often published in major Brazilian newspapers and magazines, including Folha de S.Paulo and IstoÉ. Angeli's work is characterized by its dark humor, social commentary, and distinctive drawing style, often featuring exaggerated features and grotesque characters.
He is the creator of several well-known characters in Brazilian comics, including Rê Bordosa, a middle-aged woman known for her alcoholism, sexual frustration, and existential angst; Bob Cuspe, a rebellious and violent punk character; and Wood & Stock, two hippie brothers. These characters, among others, are often featured in Angeli's strips and cartoons, exploring themes of urban life, social issues, and the human condition.
Angeli's work has been influential in Brazilian comic art and has earned him numerous awards and recognition. He continues to be a prominent figure in Brazilian journalism and satire.
