Alex Welsh (cricketer)

Alex Welsh (born July 22, 1943) is a former Scottish cricketer. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium pace bowler, Welsh played first-class cricket for Scotland between 1963 and 1972. He represented Scotland in the ICC Trophy in 1979, contributing to their qualification for the 1979 Cricket World Cup, although he was not selected for the final squad for the World Cup. Welsh also played Minor Counties cricket for Durham. His career included notable performances with the bat, and he was a consistent member of the Scottish national side during his playing years.
