Alex Forsyth (footballer, born 1952)

Alex Forsyth (born 13 January 1952) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played primarily as a defender.

Forsyth began his career with St Johnstone, where he established himself as a first-team player. After several seasons with the Saints, he moved to Rangers in 1972. At Rangers, he enjoyed considerable success, winning league titles, Scottish Cups, and Scottish League Cups. He also played in European competitions for Rangers, including the European Cup Winners' Cup.

Following his time at Rangers, Forsyth played for Motherwell. He later moved into management, managing several clubs in the Scottish lower leagues. His managerial career included spells at clubs such as Stirling Albion and Cowdenbeath.

Forsyth was known for his tough tackling and no-nonsense approach to defending. He was a reliable and consistent performer throughout his career.
