William Turner (Australian politician)

William Turner (born 1894, died 1958) was an Australian politician who served as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, representing the electoral district of Drummoyne. He was a member of the Liberal Party.

Turner entered state parliament at the 1953 election, succeeding the retiring independent member Roy Jackson. He held the seat until his death in 1958. His victory in 1953 and subsequent retention of the seat for the Liberal Party was notable, as Drummoyne was traditionally a Labor-leaning electorate.

Prior to entering parliament, Turner worked as a solicitor. His political career, though relatively short, was marked by active participation in parliamentary debates and committees. Following his death, a by-election was held to fill the vacant seat, which was won by Reg Coady of the Labor Party.
