West Station (MBTA)

West Station is a commuter rail station on the MBTA's Framingham/Worcester Line, located in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It primarily serves Boston University students and residents of the surrounding area. The station consists of two side platforms serving two tracks.

Opened in 2021, West Station was constructed as part of the broader Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) infrastructure improvement project to improve commuter rail service on the Framingham/Worcester Line. The station provides increased accessibility to the Allston area, facilitating connections to downtown Boston and points west.

Prior to the construction of West Station, the nearest MBTA Commuter Rail stations were Boston Landing to the east and Newton Corner to the west. The addition of West Station aims to alleviate congestion and offer a more convenient transit option for commuters in this area. The station is accessible via pedestrian and bicycle routes.

The station is located on Cambridge Street, offering connections to local bus routes. It's designed as a surface-level station, integrated into the existing urban fabric.
