Warren Burton (writer)
Warren Burton (1932-2017) was an American author and playwright. He was known for his contributions to both stage and literature, often exploring themes of social commentary and personal struggle. Burton's plays were produced in various regional theaters. He also wrote novels, including "The Ski Bum" (1965), which achieved considerable success and is considered a notable example of 1960s counter-culture literature. Other notable works include the novel "Here Comes the Clowns" and the play "The Star-Spangled Girl," though the latter is more famously associated with Neil Simon. Burton's writing style is characterized by its wit, its often satirical edge, and its ability to capture the zeitgeist of the periods he wrote in. His works offer a glimpse into American society and culture during the mid to late 20th century.
