Volosovo
Volosovo is a town and the administrative center of Volosovsky District in Leningrad Oblast, Russia, located approximately 84 kilometers (52 mi) southwest of St. Petersburg. It is situated on the Khrevda River.
The settlement was first mentioned in historical records in the 15th century. It was granted town status in 1999. The population is approximately 12,000 (2021 estimate).
Volosovo serves as a local transportation hub with connections to St. Petersburg and other regional centers. Its economy is primarily based on agriculture and light industry.
Historically, the area was part of the Ingria region, which has been contested between Russia and Sweden for centuries.
