Special Service Group (Navy)

The Special Service Group (Navy), often abbreviated as SSGN, is the principal special operations force of the Pakistan Navy. It is a component of the larger Special Service Group (SSG), which encompasses elements from the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force.

The SSGN specializes in a variety of maritime special operations, including but not limited to:

• Amphibious Warfare: Conducting reconnaissance, raids, and assaults from the sea.
• Maritime Counterterrorism: Responding to terrorist threats and incidents on ships, offshore installations, and coastal areas.

The SSGN is understood to be composed of highly trained and skilled personnel, rigorously selected and trained in various disciplines, including combat diving, close quarters combat, and explosives handling.
