Alvin Lewis (boxer)
Alvin Lewis (born August 17, 1962) is an American former professional boxer who competed primarily in the cruiserweight division.
Lewis began his professional boxing career in the early 1980s. He is best known for winning the IBF Cruiserweight title on July 12, 1985, by defeating S.T. Gordon by a unanimous decision. He lost the title in his first defense later that year, on November 15, 1985, to J.B. Williamson by knockout in the eleventh round.
Following the loss of his title, Lewis continued to box professionally for several more years, but never regained a major world title. He faced a number of notable opponents during his career.
