Victoria Cup (rugby union)

The Victoria Cup was an annual rugby union competition contested between representative teams from African nations. Established in 2010, it featured teams primarily from East Africa and Southern Africa, aiming to provide competitive international rugby opportunities for these nations.

The tournament was often seen as a developmental competition, helping to improve the standard of rugby in participating countries and provide a pathway for players to gain international experience. Teams that typically participated included Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and sometimes Zambia. Namibia was occasionally involved, though their higher ranking often saw them participate in other competitions.

The format of the Victoria Cup varied throughout its history, often consisting of a round-robin stage followed by a final. The competition sought to increase the number of high-quality rugby matches available to African nations outside of the established Rugby Africa Cup.
