VA-38 (U.S. Navy)

VA-38 was a U.S. Navy Attack Squadron. It was initially established as Bombing Squadron VB-74 on July 1, 1944, redesignated as Attack Squadron VA-3B on August 15, 1946, then redesignated as Attack Squadron VA-38 on August 1, 1948. The squadron was disestablished on January 15, 1950.

The squadron primarily operated the SB2C Helldiver during its early years. Later, under the VA designation, it transitioned to other attack aircraft, though specific aircraft types during its final years are less consistently documented.
