Usfurids

The Usfurids were an Arab dynasty that ruled a significant portion of the Persian Gulf coast and Bahrain from the mid-13th century to the mid-14th century. They emerged from the Banu Usfur tribe, a branch of the larger Banu Amir tribal confederation. The Usfurids gained prominence after the collapse of the Uyunid dynasty, establishing their rule over the region and challenging the power of neighboring states. Their reign was marked by conflicts with various entities, including the Qays, the rulers of Hormuz, and other Arab tribes vying for regional dominance. The Usfurids’ power eventually waned, and their territory was fragmented, leading to their decline and eventual replacement by other local powers.
