Troy Newman (singer)

Troy Newman is an American gospel singer and songwriter. He is best known as a member of the gospel group The Sensational Nightingales. Newman joined the group in the late 1980s, following in the footsteps of his father, Alfred "Al" Downing, who was also a member.

Newman has contributed to several of The Sensational Nightingales' albums, including "He's Preparing Me," "I'm Depending on You," and "Live in Chicago." He often performs lead vocals and is known for his powerful voice and passionate delivery.

Outside of his work with The Sensational Nightingales, Newman has also pursued solo projects. He continues to tour and perform both with the group and as a solo artist, maintaining a presence in the gospel music community.
