Xóc đĩa
Xóc đĩa is a popular gambling game in Vietnam. It is typically played with a bowl, a plate, and four two-sided discs (often with one side red and the other white). The dealer shakes the bowl, covering the discs, and players bet on the different possible combinations of red and white sides that will be facing up when the bowl is lifted.
The game is fast-paced and involves significant chance. The primary betting options include:
- Chẵn (Even): Betting that an even number of red or white sides will be facing up (e.g., 4 red, 2 red 2 white, 4 white).
- Lẻ (Odd): Betting that an odd number of red or white sides will be facing up (e.g., 3 red 1 white, 1 red 3 white).
- Tài (Over): Betting that three or four discs will show the red side up.
- Xỉu (Under): Betting that three or four discs will show the white side up.
Specific combinations (e.g., all four discs red) also often have their own betting options with higher payouts.
Xóc đĩa is often played informally, particularly during festive occasions like Tết (Lunar New Year). Due to its gambling nature, it is often subject to legal restrictions in Vietnam. The rules and payouts can vary slightly depending on the region or playing group.
